Had to go heads down last week to deal with a case of COVID-19 (my family’s first, knock on wood), so this week will be an off week.
Like some substacks I follow, I thought I’d do an open thread this week. By their nature, open threads invite comments on literally anything, but if you don’t have anything burning to share, here’s my prompt for you: What open questions, if any, are you wondering about? Stonetop, and PbtA games generally, encourage the GM (and sometimes the players) to keep a running list of open questions they hope to resolve through play. If you’re wondering about any dangling plot threads or potential directions our three characters could go in, or the fate of any NPCs, put ‘em in the comments and I’ll do my best to play to find out!
One thing I've been meaning to congratulate you on for a while now is how you handled the duel between Anwen and Owen. While both voting and oracle dice played a part, I really enjoyed the resolution of session 9.7. It's all too common in contemporary fiction for the protagonist to offer their rival mercy, only to have the rival refuse it so that the protagonist can then be justified in killing them. I say, choose the Christian virtue of mercy or the pagan joy of slaughtering your enemies, but don't cheaply try to have both.
I’m also looking forward to more previews of what’s in store after Stonetop. :D
