The theater was a good way to flesh out the factions and give them a face. You even worked a defy danger in there - it was nearer combat than a social call.
> “Gather those who are in position to lead you astray on this matter, and present them to me. If they dissemble about their true loyalties, I will know. And in return, we expect you will lend your aid to the defense of Gordin’s Delve when the nomads come.”
This is a great turn - I love how in these negotiations things have just slid into place in terms of how to get folks to fall in line. All very believable and well crafted based on the fiction.
I was imagining it as fronts / a 'grill' with perhaps some false teeth in the mix as well. It'll be interesting if Vahid tries to read her mind, since they exude anti-magic. :)
We'll likely learn more about Odo next episode. I had initially intended to delve into him a bit more this session, but with the scene framed with this trio -- the most reasonable and business-like of the five -- their more personal agendas took center stage. In my head, I rationalized that they, like Ffransis, prefer not to think about Odo much at all, unless he causes direct trouble for him. But of the three, Mutra has to contend with him the most (they compete for labor in the mines), so no doubt when the party spends time with her, they'll hear about him.
I'm quite ok with this level of NPC theater. It might not work at the table, but this is a different medium. It also does a lot of world-building.
I have many a happy conversation with myself, the PC's and myselves, I'll have you know.

I'm a fan of the theatre, when used sparingly, and I think it's one of the advantages of this medium over tabletop.

So Mutra has black iron dentures? Woah… hope we get to hear more of her story (and the other guy that Ffrancis was afraid of!)

Very eager for Odo.
