Based on having fought with him in the past as an Ally Padrig would know if he is the kind to take prisoners no?
Reason only goes so far when it comes to a man on a mission. I feel there is another option which doesn't sound like Padrig but more Vahids style and that is counter intelligence and manuvering. Building a faction all his own. Brennan gave away a bit too much when he said that he needs Padrig and that there are people whispering for him to lead. Which could very well be true.
Me thinks without Padrig his hold in the claws is no existent and we'd have Ivan or the like trying to take his head.
Padrig definitely knows that Brennan is capable of violence to protect his hold over the crew -- we know at least one person, Ulrikke, who was a member of the Claws that Brennan executed (in his case, he was the former chief who Brennan overthrew), and in a past conversation with Ozbeg, Padrig alluded to others who were killed for betrayal, real or perceived. That said, I think we can assume, though, that at least a few people have left the Claws peacefully in the past and Brennan let them go (even if he wasn't thrilled about it).
Re: Counter intelligence and maneuvering -- that's definitely something that Padrig can explore, regardless of how he plays this current conversation. We know that there are people in the Claws that respect him. Most likely, if that's the route he wants to take, he should tell Brennan what he wants to hear in this conversation.
Judging by what’s happened before I vote unreasonable, although I view it more as him knowing that - as with children, albeit very dangerous ones - sometimes you just have to be harsh and deal with the fallout.
That makes a lot of sense -- he also seems like he's grown tired of lying, after spending the last season living under somewhat false pretenses. He's been telling the truth lately and gotten a taste for it.
And I'm glad you're liking it! Thanks so much for reading and playing. <3
I voted for unreasonable - I think Pad has had it up to here and he thinks he can handle what might come. Lots of interesting possible directions - the confrontation leads to a power struggle which, ironically, ends up with Pad having even more responsibility than he has now, rather than less. Or what if - contrary to Pad's expectations - Brennan has a real plan, perhaps with a heretofore-unrevealed and shadowy new advisor or accomplice - and as a result he actually has a chance at realizing his dream?
Re: Brennan's plan -- I think it's a great idea that Brennan at least has a shot at realizing some part of this dream. If it's all just idle talk, then Padrig can just wait for it all to collapse from a distance, which isn't very dramatic. So, assuming everyone leaves the room alive, we'll have to do some thinking about what that secret weapon might be. Fun!
Brennan makes my skin crawl.

Also, loving this write up. Kudos!
